自从牛郎来到古墓建筑工地，工地上的气氛变得文明了。这也是由于人们看见了女婴举石槽子，随后各个公司都增派了自己的保安人员，对自己的员工进行了安全以及文明礼貌的培训。在上午和下午中间休息的时候，人们开始聚集在仓库前面的砂堆旁唠嗑，讲故事，摔跤。人们常谈论牛郎干活即快又好，七天的活儿三天干完，三天的活一天干完。而牛郎却没有因为人们的夸赞而感到自豪。

Since Cowboy came to the ancient tomb construction site, the atmosphere on the site has become civilized. This is also because people saw Heroine lifting the stone trough, and then each company sent its own security personnel and trained its employees on safety and civility. During the break between the morning and afternoon, people began to gather around the sand pile in front of the warehouse to chat, tell stories, and wrestle. People often talked about how Cowboy worked quickly and well, finishing seven days' work in three days and three days' work in one day. But Cowboy did not feel proud of people's praise.

Some people picked up small colored stones from the sand pile and discussed the meaning of the colors. Cowboy was very obsessed with this game and often stared at the colored stones in a daze.

Several times, Cowboy took small stones with bright colors to ask Beauty Yellow for advice. One day, Beauty Yellow picked out nine small stones from the sand and taught Cowboy how to play the game. Then Cowboy placed the small stones on the windowsill of his bedroom. This aroused the curiosity of many people, who tried to figure out the small stones; but no one could figure out how to play the game (Cowboy's Heart; note1).

Note 10.11-1: This is a Juristic Teacher (Mage, magician) employed by the slave company where Cow works performing a Making-Law to seduce Little Dragoness with Cowboy. This making is ongoing.

One day it was raining, and the construction site was stopped, waiting for the rain to stop. Cowboy and his friend ran to the backyard with a large basket. They dug a large basket of vegetable seedlings from their friend's house and planted the entire vegetable garden with vegetables at once.

10.11-2 签合同 Sign the Contract

这天，牛郎的朋友告诉牛郎，十五天的试用期已经过了，他该和这家工地签合同了。娥黄拿着牛郎的合同来客厅和小龙女谈话。她恭敬地把牛郎的合同放在了小龙女的办公桌上，然后站在了一边。小龙女惊讶地坐直了，翻开合同看了看，说：“这么多项，你给我说说这合同上都说了些什么？”

That day, Cowboy's friend told him that the fifteen days of probation were over, and it was time for him to sign a contract with the construction site. Beauty Yellow brought Cowboy's contract to the living room to talk to Little Dragoness. She respectfully placed Cowboy's contract on Little Dragoness’ desk and stood to one side. Little Dragoness sat up straight in surprise, flipped open the contract and looked at it, saying, "There are so many items, can you tell me what is written in this contract?"

Beauty Yellow said: "This form was made by my father."

10.11-3 建立实验室 To Establish a Laboratory

牛郎把三个渔具线轮模型装到了鱼竿上，都很好用。小龙女兴奋地跟娥黄叨咕：”我想雇佣个做硬木龙骨锁模型的技工，做些模型。我们也好研究一下龙骨锁的设计和施工。这样我们和他们谈判的时候不至于什么都不知道。雇佣他们徒工的价钱是一个月一个金元宝。我看牛郎做的这三个线轮都很精致，要不咱想办法试试他能不能做龙骨锁模型？”

Cowboy installed three fishing reel wheels on the fishing rod, and they all worked very well. Little Dragoness excitedly muttered to Beauty Yellow: "I want to hire a technician who can make hardwood keel lock models. making some models so that we can study the design and construction of keel locks. This way, we won't be clueless when we negotiate with them. The price for hiring their apprentices is one gold ingot per month. I see that the three reels made by Cowboy are very delicate. Why don't we try to see if he can make keel lock models?"

I heard that the processing fee of hardwood is expensive, mainly because the processing tools are expensive and the tools wear out a lot. 10.11-4 买金刚凿 Buy a Philosopher-Stone Chisel

Cowboy came to the commercial center of the ancient tomb area and soon found the only shop selling philosopher-stone chisels. The shop owner took the chisel and easily removed an edge of a hickory board, and then said: "This kind of chisel, 170 taels of silver each."

Cowboy replied: "When I was studying at XXX school, teacher Luban (as shown in Figure 10.11-2, later recommended by Little Dragoness and Beauty-Yellow, Luban became the advisor of Yao Creator and an academician of the Academy of Sciences, the ancestor of carpenters) had a chisel like this, and he bought it for 110 taels of silver. Can you sell it to me at a lower price?"

商人笑了：“你曾是鲁班的学生。他的那只金刚凿是七年前从我这里买的，现在涨价了。看在鲁班的面子上，我少收20两银子！”

牛郎离开了这家店，去商业城找前几天卖给他工作服的那位经理（参见10.6《娥黄给牛郎买工作服》）要名片。那位经理笑着回答：“还是那个说法，在咱们这个商业区，你拿着我的名片去买贵重商品。卖方会以业内价格卖给你，还免费教授你相关的知识。”

The merchant smiled: "You were Luban's student. He bought that philosopher-stone chisel from me seven years ago, and now the price has increased. For Luban's sake, I will charge 20 taels less silver!"

Cowboy left the store and went to the commercial city to ask for the business card of the manager who sold him the work clothes a few days ago (see 10.6 "Beauty Yellow bought work clothes for Cowboy"). The manager laughed and replied: "It's the same thing. In our commercial district, you can use my business card to buy expensive goods. The seller will sell it to you at the industry price and teach you related knowledge for free."

牛郎半信半疑地回到了金刚凿的销售商，把商业城经理的名片递给了销售商。他看了名片后叨咕：“你是他的朋友，那我就告诉你实情。金刚凿有两种，我刚才给你介绍的这种适用于加工量不大的如山核桃木山核桃木等比较软的硬木；价钱是110两银子一件。如果你要加工檀香木或者要加工大量的山核桃木，需要买那种真正的金刚凿，很贵。如果你真的用得着，我们才会告诉你价钱。买那种凿子，我们也需要定制，需要半年时间。你看，这把是我们用的金刚凿。”说着他对牛郎展示了真的金刚凿，然后问：“你要加工檀香木吗？”

Cowboy returned to the philosopher-stone chisel seller with doubts and handed the business card of the manager of the commercial city to the seller. After reading the business card, he muttered: "You are his friend, so I will tell you the truth. There are two kinds of philosopher-stone chisels. The one I just introduced to you is suitable for processing small quantities of soft hardwoods such as hickory and hickory; the price is 110 taels of silver per piece. If you want to process sandalwood or a large amount of hickory, you need to buy a real philosopher-stone chisel, which is very expensive. We will only tell you the price if you really need it. To buy that kind of chisel, we also need to customize it, which takes half a year. Look, this is the philosopher-stone chisel we use." He showed Cowboy a real philosopher-stone chisel and asked: "Do you want to process sandalwood?"

牛郎回答：“我不知道，老板让我买加工硬木模型的凿子。”

金刚凿销售商说：“如果你买了我们的金刚凿，不能退货。但如果将来你要加工檀香木，在你没使用的情况下，我们可以回收，退给你的钱用于支付你购买真金刚凿。”

牛郎问：“我要买三件，能再便宜些不？”

销售商回答说：“110两银子一件的价钱是我们维持生意正常运转的价钱；即便是你买10件，也是110两银子一件。”

Cowboy replied: "I don't know, my boss asked me to buy a chisel for processing hardwood models."

The chisel seller said: "If you buy our chisel, you can't return it. But if you want to process sandalwood in the future, we can recycle it if you don't use it, and the money returned to you can be used to pay for your purchase of a real philosopher-stone chisel."

Cowboy asked: "I want to buy three pieces; can it be cheaper?"

The seller replied: "The price of 110 taels of silver per piece is the price we keep our business running normally; even if you buy 10 pieces, it is still 110 taels of silver per piece."

10.11-5 责任制 Accountability System

牛郎回到古墓建筑工地后向娥黄汇报了他去询问价钱的经过。娥黄没回答。牛郎问：“您有什么意见？决定买还是不买？”

娥黄回答：“我让你去买东西，你全权负责。如果你决定买，就去找女婴要钱。”

这时，女婴和小龙女已经回来了，问：“买什么东西？”

After returning to the ancient tomb construction site, Cowboy reported to Beauty Yellow about his trip to inquire about the price. Beauty Yellow did not respond. Cowboy asked, “What do you think? Should we buy it or not?”

Beauty Yellow replied, “I sent you to buy things, so you are fully responsible. If you decide to buy, go ask Heroine for the money.” 

At that moment, Heroine and Little Dragoness had returned and asked, “What are you buying?”

牛郎回答：“管家要买三件金刚凿，110两银子一件。您觉着怎么样？”

女婴听后一怔，回答说：“又要花费1.1公斤黄金！我不知道，我是第一次听说金刚凿这个词。我是财务保管员，保管钱财和物品。我想起来了，你说你栽菜根，15天就长到能吃的程度。现在都过去一个多月了，我要验收菜园。”

Cowboy replied, "Butler wants to buy three philosopher-stone chisels, each for 110 taels of silver. What do you think?"

After hearing this, Heroine paused for a moment and replied, “Another 1.1 kilograms of gold! I don't know, this is the first time I've heard the term ‘philosopher-stone chisel’. 10.11-6 验收菜园 Inspecting the Vegetable Garden

他们四人一起来到了菜园，小龙女一边走一边叨咕：“我看见这里绿油油的几次了，原来是咱们的菜园长起来了！”

女婴厉声对牛郎说：“你说半个月就能吃，我要吃菜！”

牛郎顺手挖起了一棵葱，递给了女婴。

女婴生气地问：“那里那么多长得很好的蔬菜，你为什么给我挖这棵又小又丑的葱？”

The four of them came to the vegetable garden together. Little Dragoness muttered as she walked: "I have seen green here several times. It turns out that our vegetable garden has grown!"

Heroine said to Cowboy sternly: "You said that we can eat it in half a month. I want to eat vegetables!"

Cowboy dug up a scallion and handed it to Heroine.

Heroine asked angrily: "There are so many well-grown vegetables there. Why did you dig this small and ugly scallion for me?"

牛郎回答：“这是我从厨房拿的菜根长出来的；那些是我从朋友家挖来的菜苗栽出来的。”

娥黄说：“菜长出来就能吃，多小都能吃。”

小龙女问：“有没有卖花椒大料树苗的市场？我们可以全部用自己菜园长出来的蔬菜和调料来做那条20公斤重的大鲤鱼。”

牛郎回答：“有栽在花盆里卖的，容易栽活，而且立刻就能采摘食用。”

小龙女说：“买，以后我们就用自家菜园树上长香料做菜。”

娥黄说：“炖20公斤大的鲤鱼，咱们厨房里的锅不够大呀！”

Little Dragoness asked, “Is there a market for Sichuan pepper and star anise saplings? We can use all the vegetables and spices grown in our own vegetable garden to cook that 20-kilogram carp.”

Cowboy replied, “There are ones sold in pots, which are easy to grow and can be harvested and eaten immediately.” 

Little Dragoness said, “Let's buy them. From now on, we'll use the spices grown on the trees in our own vegetable garden for cooking.” 

Beauty Yellow said, “To stew a 20-kilogram carp, the pot in our kitchen isn't big enough!” 

女婴自告奋勇地回答：“炖鲤鱼的任务就交给我。我去买口行军锅，再在牛棚旁边挖个行军灶。 ” 说着她去牛棚把那把军用镰刀取了过来。

小龙女问：“很明显，牛郎用这把镰刀割草喂牛。你拿它干什么？”

女婴回答：“这小子也太能祸害人了！我一时没注意，这把古董镰刀就差点儿被他用坏了。”

Heroine volunteered, “I'll take care of stewing the carp. I'll go buy a military pot and dig a military stove beside the cow shed.” Saying this, she went to the cow shed and fetched the military sickle.

Little Dragoness asked, “It's obvious that Cowboy uses this sickle to cut grass for the cow. What are you going to do with it?”

Heroine replied, “This guy is such a troublemaker! I wasn't paying attention for a while, and he almost broke this antique sickle.”

10.11-7 钓鱼 Fishing

钓大鲤鱼那天，三位姑娘没吃早饭，要留着胃口吃用自己园子里生长出来的蔬菜和香料烹饪出来的鲤鱼。牛郎忙碌地撒诱饵，引诱鲤鱼过来进食；还在她们的周围烧香蒿子，驱赶蚊子。

On the day they went carp fishing, the three girls skipped breakfast, saving room for the carp cooked with vegetables and herbs grown in their own garden. Cowboy busily scattered bait to lure the carp to feed, while burning Artemisia annua around them to keep the mosquitoes at bay.

她们真的钓到了一条大鲤鱼，吵嚷地谋划着，很长时间才把大鲤鱼牵到了一片浅水区。忽然大鲤鱼发力了，挣断了鱼钩。她们三人都跑到水里去抓鱼。女婴动作灵敏，像似抱孩子一样抱起了鲤鱼（如图10.11-3）。牛郎看见了，跑了过去。这时大鲤鱼挣脱了女婴的怀抱（如图10.11-3）。牛郎双手捧起了大鲤鱼，扔到了岸上。

They had indeed caught a huge carp. After much noisy planning, it took them a long time to lead the fish into a shallow area. Suddenly, the carp surged forward, breaking free from the hook. All three girls rushed into the water to catch it. Heroine moved swiftly, cradling the carp as if holding a baby (as shown in Figure 10.11-3). Cowboy saw this and rushed over. Just then, the carp wriggled free from Heroine's embrace. Cowboy scooped up the carp with both hands and tossed it onto the shore.

女婴气愤地对小龙女和娥皇叨咕：“他跑过来干什么！？败兴！今天的鲤鱼不给他吃！”

小龙女劝道：“还有两条呢！下次就你一个人钓，别人谁也不准帮忙！”

女婴回答：“那两条鲤鱼都给我了，那我就分了：一条给我师傅（二郎神）和师母（尧帝），另一条给玉皇大帝和王母娘娘留着！”

Heroine muttered angrily to Little Dragoness and Beauty-Yellow, “What's he doing running over here!? What a buzzkill! He's not getting any carp meat today!”

Little Dragoness tried to placate her, “There are still two lefts! Next time you fish alone—no one else helps you!”

Heroine retorted, “If those two carp are mine, I'll divide them: one for my Teacher-Father (Second Wolf God) and Teacher-Mother (Yao Creator), and the other reserved for Turquoise Great Creator and King Mother of the West!”

牛郎回答：“女婴那么抱鲤鱼，很危险的。我小时候，我爸爸那么抱鲤鱼，鲤鱼摆尾，把我爸爸的腿打青了。那要是打在脸上，能把人打伤喽！”

娥黄回去把牛郎说的告诉了她俩，小龙女恍然大悟地说：“哎呀！那他看出危险了，应该过来帮忙，咱把这个大鱼头奖励给他！反正咱们仨人谁都不会吃鱼头！”

Beauty Yellow quietly approached Cowboy and asked, “What were you thinking, rushing over to help like that?”

Cowboy replied, “Heroine was holding that carp like that—it's dangerous. When I was little, my dad held a carp that way, and the fish flicked its tail, bruising his leg. If it had hit his face, it could've seriously hurt him!”

Beauty relayed Cowboy's words to the other two. Little Dragoness suddenly understood and exclaimed, “Oh! Since he saw the danger and came to help, we should reward him with this big fish head! None of us three would eat it anyway!”
