10.13 小龙女摔伤了Dragoness Has Injured Herself in a Fall

 

一天，女婴听说小龙女摔伤了，慌忙地来看她。大夫离开后，她又亲自给小龙女检查身体，发现脚踝伤得严重些，走路一瘸一拐的，没什么别的问题。女婴问她们俩是在哪里摔倒了，摔倒的过程。她们俩都不愿意女婴了，就是不说。女婴感觉自己犯错误了，不出声了，悄悄地观察她俩。

One day, upon hearing that Little Dragoness had fallen and injured herself, Heroine hurried over to see her. After the doctor left, she personally examined Little Dragoness, finding that her ankle was badly hurt and she was limping when she walked, but there were no other issues. Heroine asked them both where she had fallen and how it happened. Neither of them wanted to tell Heroine and refused to say anything. Feeling she had made a mistake, Heroine fell silent and quietly observed them.

一天晚上，女婴看见娥黄匆匆赶去寻找小龙女，二人随即进入了绘图室。她尾随进入绘图室却不见人影。根据房间布局和她们的攀爬能力，她循着线索，从凳子爬上柜子，再攀上隔断墙追踪。女婴发现了小龙女摔倒的原因。前几天女婴在巡查仓库防火的时候，发现仓库和绘图室之间的隔壁墙旁边堆的木板可以为攀登到墙顶提供踏脚处，就把那堆木板从墙边移开了一段距离。女婴悄悄地找小龙女和鹅黄，发现她俩正在偷听仓库外面沙堆旁的人们唠嗑。

One evening, Heroine saw Beauty Yellow rushing back to find Little Dragoness, and then the two of them entered the drawing loft. She followed into the drawing room but found them absent. Judging by the room's arrangement and their climbing abilities, she tracked them by scaling from a stool onto a cabinet and scaling the partition wall. Heroine discovered why Little Dragoness had fallen. A few days earlier, while patrolling the warehouse for fire hazards, she noticed that the wooden planks piled beside the partition wall between the warehouse and the drawing room could be used as footholds to climb to the top of the wall. She moved that pile of planks away from the wall. Heroine quietly sought out Little Dragoness and Beauty Yellow, finding them eavesdropping on the chatter of people near the sand pile outside the warehouse.

女婴也自己找了个位置听外面的人在唠什么。仓库的外面，一个常和牛郎摔跤的保安正在和牛郎告别：“我已经几次去面试镖师了，人家不要我。你和我的摔跤技能差不多，而女婴是职业镖师，你不要招惹女婴。如果她打你，就这样。”保安说着，推了一下牛郎的肩膀，然后又说：“你的颈椎就受伤了，疼三到五个月！”

牛郎不信。

Cowboy did not believe it.

Heroine found her own spot to listen to the chatter outside. Outside the warehouse, a security guard who often wrestled with Cowboy was bidding him farewell: "I've gone to several interviews for bodyguard jobs, but they won't take me. Your wrestling skills are about the same as mine, but the Heroine is a professional bodyguard. Don't mess with her. 牛郎笑着说：“你示范给我看！”

他俩就摔起来了。那位保安把牛郎摔趴下了，然后坐在了他的身上。牛郎怎么也爬不起来。两人大笑着。过了一会儿。牛郎猛地一挺，那位保安故意摔了出去。

The security guard continued, “If Heroine wants to teach you a lesson, she'll sit on you right in front of everyone, and you won't be able to get up!”

Cowboy laughed and said, “Show me how it's done!”

They started wrestling. The security guard threw Cowboy to the ground and sat on him. Cowboy couldn't get up no matter how hard he tried. Both burst into laughter. After a moment, Cowboy suddenly thrust himself up, and the security guard deliberately let go and fell backward.

牛郎说：“你再示范一下女婴是怎么让我的颈椎受伤的？”

那位保安就又推了一下牛郎的肩膀。这次牛郎仔细地体会了，同意了那位保安的说法。

那位保安说：“女婴推你的肩膀，让你疼三至五个月，那是她出手最轻的警告。如果她用她的大屁股拱你！就这样！” 保安走到了牛郎的身边，用胯骨送牛郎的胯骨到一边。然后说： “你的腰就会疼6至8个月！ 这也是警告！她不会把你弄残废了；但是以后你的腰就容易受伤。几次受伤后，你就变成废人了。 女婴是习武世家出身。她在几个月大的时候，还不会爬呢！父母就开始让她滚，练习腰力了！”

Cowboy said, "Demonstrate again how Heroine injured my cervical spine?"

The security guard then pushed Cowboy's shoulder again. This time, Cowboy carefully considered the sensation and agreed with the guard's advice.

The guard said, "Cowboy pushing your shoulder will cause you pain for three to five months; that's the lightest warning she can give. If she nudges you with her big buttocks! Like this!" 那位保安和牛郎挥手告别了。

Cowboy said seriously, "I didn't realize Heroine was so ruthless!"

The security guard replied, "That's just the kind of person she is. She's a professional bodyguard; she makes her living off her reputation! If you make her lose face, it'll be terrible. She's already been very kind to you; she hasn't laid a hand on you yet!"

Cowboy said sincerely, "Thank you, brother! Now that I know my position, I won't go for the bodyguard interview!"

The security guard waved goodbye to Cowboy.

小龙女一瘸一拐地向回走，就要向绘图室的隔墙上爬。女婴阻止她说：“这木板堆离墙的距离太远，你上去不安全，等我把木板堆挪近些。”

说着，女婴用一块木板顶住了一人高的木材垛，蹲下后靠在了木板上，用力一拱。整垛木板被移动到了墙边。她又拱了一次，调正了木板垛的方位。

娥黄对小龙女叨咕：“我才意识到女婴的大屁股这么可怕！我正愁呢：你受伤了，就得我自己搬，这堆木头够我搬一天了！”

Little Dragoness limped back and was about to climb the wall separating the drawing room. Heroine stopped her, saying, "This pile of planks is too far from the wall. It's not safe for you to climb up. Let me move the pile of planks closer."

As she spoke, Heroine used a plank to brace against a stack of timber as tall as a person, squatted down, leaned against the plank, and gave a strong push. The entire stack of planks was moved to the wall. She pushed again, adjusting the position of the timber stack.

Heroine walked over to the woodpile, measured it with her hands, and gave it a sudden shove; the pile slid off a step. Another push sent it sliding another step. Then she climbed up first, saying, “I'll go to the drawing room to fetch you two. Little Dragoness ankle is injured, so she'll have trouble getting down from the cabinet.”

Beauty Yellow muttered to Little Dragoness, “That move was exactly like the one that security guard described for beating Cowboy! Is she trying to scare us!?”

女婴委屈地说：“那我也没打牛郎，你们俩怎么对我这表情呢？”

娥黄回答：“被你吓得！如果牛郎被你打了一下子，我们做了这么多天的工作全白费了，再也交往不透牛郎了！”

女婴问：“那你是怎么知道那位保安今天要和牛郎告别的？”

Heroine pouted, “But I didn't hit Cowboy! Why are you two giving me that look?”

Beauty Yellow replied, “You scared us! If you'd hit Cowboy even once, all our hard work these past days would've been wasted. We'd never be able to get close to him again!”

Heroine asked, "Then how did you know that the security guard was going to say goodbye to Cowboy today?"

娥黄回答：“那位保安是牛郎他们奴隶公司雇来教牛郎的职业保镖，是门楼上的两位法师教他如何教导牛郎的。”

女婴惊讶地说：“法师来我们这里做法；你们怎么不告诉我把他们赶走？”

Beauty Yellow replied, "That security guard is a professional bodyguard hired by Cowboy's slave company to teach him. The two Juristic Teachers on the gate tower taught him how to instruct Cowboy."

Heroine exclaimed in surprise, "The Juristic Teachers came here to perform rituals (making law, doing magic); why didn't you tell me to chase them away?"

娥黄回答：“他们要在这里做法就让他们做呗！他们又不妨碍我们，我们看热闹，挺好的！接着，娥黄给女婴介绍了另外几个观察点，全面地讲述了这整个工地的人们都在干什么。”

女婴惊讶地说：“我一直以为这工地里发生的事，我全知道！现在我才明白，这工地里的事我只知道一小部分。”

Beauty Yellow replied, "If they want to perform rituals here, let them! They're not bothering us. We can just watch the fun, it's fine!" Then, Beauty Yellow introduced Heroine to several other observation points, giving a comprehensive account of what everyone at the construction site was doing.

Heroine exclaimed in surprise, "I always thought I knew everything that happened at this construction site! Now I realize I only know a small part of what's going on here!"

Heroine replied, "That's easy. I'll allow a few small thieves to come and steal from us, but not to rob! But I can take you two to see robberies elsewhere!"

娥黄和小龙女惊讶地问：“你怎么知道哪里有人打劫？”

女婴回答：“我认识几个强盗。有两个地方，我常去看打劫！”

Beauty Yellow and Little Dragoness asked in surprise, "How do you know where robberies are happening?"

Heroine replied, "I know a few robbers. There are two places I often go to watch robberies!"
